Dear Colleagues,

Following the announcement that Tammy Hickox is leaving the Provost office to join the General Counsel's office, I am delighted to announce that following a search, Henrike Frowein has been appointed Research Compliance Officer for Dartmouth. Henrike will transition into this new position within the Office of the Vice Provost for Research on June 16. The position will include responsibility for research related Conflict of Interest, as well as central oversight of export control and coordination of mandatory training for researchers.

Henrike came to Dartmouth from Washington DC in 2013. Since then, she has coordinated a variety of interdisciplinary special projects for the Office of the Provost, including a daylong conference to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the development of the computer language BASIC at Dartmouth. During the last several months, Henrike has worked on a range of conflict of interest issues during the maternity leave of Tammy Hickox, who has been the Provost's Conflict of Interest Officer and is now moving to the Office of the General Counsel. Before moving to the Upper Valley, Henrike served as Director for Public and Government Affairs for Deutsche Telekom, the mother company of T-Mobile Wireless, for fifteen years, working on transactions, regulatory affairs and compliance matters. Henrike holds a law degree (J.D.) with high honors from the Free University of Berlin in Germany, and a Masters Degree (LL.M) in International Law from the University of Michigan Law School.

Please join me in welcoming Henrike to her new position.

Best,

Martin
