Hi Mykel,

I hope this finds you well.   Varun Bhuchar suggested I reach out to you, as I’m working on a “Tuck Follies” skit with a handful of other Tuckies and we’re in need of pretty basic video editing help.  Do you know if any students that might be interested in working with us on this?

We’ll have about fifteen to twenty minutes of footage that we’ll want to cut down into two approx two minute videos.  They’re meant to mimic news clips, like what you’d see on the Daily Show.

We should have most of the footage by Friday afternoon and would need the videos by Tuesday afternoon.   We’re of course more than happy to pay whatever you think might be a fair rate for the help.

Thanks very much.  I’m looking forward to being in touch.

Best,
Matt

Hi Matt,

So funny story...I'm actually off-campus this weekend  until Sunday and definitely couldn't get you your stuff by next Tuesday. I asked my roommate if he could do it to but he's also swamped. You should email Mykel Nairne '16 who's the film department's assistant and she can blitz the department seeing if anyone is interested. Sorry for the inconvenience and  good luck with your project!

Best,

Varun

Matt, this is Varun. He's a senior film major and worked with me last year at Telluride Film Festival — he's very good at what he does and is also much faster with this sort of editing project than I would be.

Varun, you can check out the project description in the email below.

Let me know if I can do anything else, best of luck with the shorts.

Hey! All the Film & Media studies majors have taken at least one video editing class, and most are happy to do freelance work.
