Dartmouth Explorers Symposium, Friday, April 24th from 3-6PM, Dartmouth Hall, Room 105 (Basement)
This Friday, Ledyard Canoe Club will be hosting the Dartmouth Explorers Symposium: Adventure, Learning, and Leadership on the World's Rivers and Oceans.
From John Ledyard's Trip to the Sea down the Connecticut River in 1772, to more recent source-to-sea expeditions down the Rio Grande, around the Sea of Japan, and through Tibet's legendary Tsango Gorge, Dartmouth students and alumni have been at the forefront of the exploration of the world's rivers and oceans.  Come hear stories of adventure from some of Dartmouth's greatest explorers.
Nearly 240 years after John Ledyard famously pushed off from Hanover in a dugout canoe to join Captain Cook, the Dartmouth Explorers Symposium will present seven decades of alums and students who have paddled rivers and oceans across the globe - racking up first descents, grappling with life and death challenges, and launching careers that made a real difference - from biotech to politics to clean energy.
Free and Open to the Public! No RSVP necessary.
