I took a walk down to the wetland along the wetland trail, and then followed the Brook back to the bridge on my way back to create a loop walk.. There were numerous sparrows in the grasses, reeds, and sedges along the wetland edge. I couldn't get good looks at them. A few were more common looking LBJ's ("little brown jobbies") but one of the sparrows was much more uniform in tone- not the usual lighter underside with a darker back- and lighter than the others. Still pretty sure it was a sparrow, though.
If anyone else wishes to check out this area, it is easy to do! Simply hike the wetland trail and then walk through the surprisingly dry wetland edge back along the brook, eventually returning to the bridge.
Also- I heard a barred owl calling close to the end of the wetland trail, and the hepatica should start blooming soon if you are looking for wildflowers!
