The newly created internship program at Northern Stage provides an experiential learning opportunity to recent Dartmouth graduates who are interested in pursuing a career in the world of professional theater. The Northern Stage Internship Program is committed to training future generations of artistic leaders and administrators. Applicants should be highly motivated individuals who have acquired basic training in the theater arts. The chosen Dartmouth intern will be an integral member of the staff and can expect to be challenged by a creative process that relies on both ingenuity and collaboration. 

Interns at this premiere regional theater work full-time from late-August to mid-May, enjoying benefits that include free housing, a weekly stipend, and networking opportunities with a wide variety of guest artists, both at Northern Stage and Dartmouth College. They leave with a greater knowledge of the theatrical process and the satisfaction of being part of a dedicated theater company where exceptional quality is the end goal. 

Based on their interests and skills, the internship will include time working on artistic programming with the Artistic Director, fundraising with the Development team, engaging the community with the Marketing and Education departments, assisting directors in the rehearsal room on our mainstage productions, and working closely with national artists on Northern Stage’s New Works Now festival of new plays.
