Dear DOC,
Even though Sunday was the last day of lift operation for the Dartmouth Skiway, there’s still lots of snow and good skiing to be had. Sign up for this Friday's trip to the Skiway to hike up and ski down. Depending on time and conditions, we’ll aim
to get in two runs.
- Date and Time: Friday, April 3. Meet in Robinson lobby ready to depart at 10:30 am; we’ll return by about 2:30.
- What to bring: day pack, appropriate clothing for the weather that day, water, lunch, skis, boots and poles (bring either alpine, AT, telemark, or backcountry skis). And if you don’t want to boot it to the top of the hill, bring your climbing skins.
- Experience: you don’t need to be an expert skier, just be able to ski the runs at the Skiway safely. There’s a variety of terrain there to choose from.
- Cost: Free! You’ll earn it, just like back in the day….

OPO is aiming to offer an outing or workshop of some sort every week of the term. The dates and times will vary. Some upcoming outings include:
- Self-arrest and roped-travel workshop at the Skiway, Friday April 10 (Dan Nelson)
- Either skiing or self-arrest at the Skiway, Tuesday April 14 (Dan Nelson)
- Outing with Brian Kunz (activity and location to be determined), Tuesday April 21.
