Dear DOC:

The trails are muddy
But the roads are dry
So why not give
Your bike a try

When:  Tuesday, April 14, 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm
Where:  Depart from the front of Robinson Hall at 12:30, ride out the Lyme Road to River Road, up River Road to Lyme, and then back Rt. 10 to campus.
Distance/Time:  This is about a 20-mile ride, which should take about 2 hours.
Gear Needed:  A road or mountain bike in good repair, a helmet, water bottle and a snack, and appropriate clothing for the weather,  (low 60s)
Pace and Experience:  This will be an easy ride for beginning, recreational riders — or more experienced riders who would just enjoy getting out for a leisurely ride on a nice day.  We’ll ride together, no one will be left behind, and we’ll re-group at every turn.  We’ll also talk about and practice group-riding safety and etiquette.

Actually, the road may be a little damp from some showers tonight or Tuesday morning, but the rain should be stopping by mid-morning.  If you’d like to come but haven’t looked at your bike for a while, stop by DOC Rentals in the basement of Robo ahead of time to lube your chain and put some air in your tires.   If you’ll be riding a mountain bike, you’ll want to inflate your tires to near the maximum recommended pressure for riding on the road.

I hope you can join me!

Cheers
Dan
