While out monitoring conserved land today (hibernation is over for
stewardship folks!), I observed two mature bald eagles in the Reeds marsh
nest in Orford. Farther south along Route 10, while monitoring conserved
land along Clay Brook (opposite Chafee Wildlife Sanctuary), I was
accompanied by a flock if bohemian waxwings feeding off of last years sumac
fruit. I wish I had a good camera with me! Also, the water was open along
the brook. I imagine waterfowl will return the Clay Brook soon!
