We purchased 5 external drives to accommodate usage of discs, and that has been more than sufficient for our lab. We have a mac classroom of 28 stations, pc classroom 28 stations, open lab with ~12macs/12pcs. However, both our campus media library and the LRC are purchasing more digital licensing for movies to be accessed from online, our windows machines that take discs, as well as 4 stations that have blue-ray/dvd/vhs players...so there are other options for viewing. Hope this helps.
