I saw a turkey vulture eating what looked like a squirrel on the side of a residential street in Wilder this afternoon. I stopped my car in front of it as my road teed into the other one where the TV was eating just opposite me. It tugged the corpse just a few inches away but was mainly interested in continuing to eat it. I didn't want to disturb the bird so turned slowly up its street. My car had been only feet from it as I turned but the bird didn't move.

There was a pair of crows nearby paying close attention.
