Just before this last storm that was not much of a storm up here many  
of "our" birds disappeared. They are slowly reappearing, though  
numbers are still down. I wonder if this mornings (and yesterdays)  
sharp shinned hawk is part of the reason. The chickadees that did not  
get away before he arrived looked as if they were in a trance for at  
least ten minutes, not moving one tiny feather as they clung to  
various parts of the feeders.
