Redpolls are new to my feeders in West Newbury, VT. The first ones I’ve ever seen in the yard appeared yesterday, with a flock of about 24 working around my niger feeders. They were reinforced today, with 90-100 birds rapidly putting seed away. For much of the morning, the wind was strong enough to make flying hard for them – we saw several flying backwards past our windows.
