?Dartmouth to Deploy the Next Version of Rapport Grants

The Office of Sponsored Projects, in collaboration with our colleagues in Computing, will be deploying a new version of the grants module on March 16, 2015. The "full grants" module of RAPPORT (Research Administration and PI Portal) represents the next phase of the project to implement a common system for IRB, Grants, and Conflict of Interest. The "full grants" phase is the final phase in moving from our legacy system, Coeus.

The "full grants" module builds upon the Grantsxpress system that was deployed 2 plus years ago. The new module will continue to provide faculty and staff with tools to develop and submit proposals electronically to grants.gov. Features of "full grants" include the following:

  * Secure access to information based upon PI and departmental roles
  * Enables PI to grant read-only or edit rights to proposals
  * Electronic routing and approval of all proposals including government, foundation, and corporate grants
  * Document repository of all proposals submitted after March 16, 2015
  * Expanded system-to-system transmissions to grants.gov for all submission types (new, competing renewal, revised, resubmissions, competing supplements)
  * Document repository for just-in-time information
  * Award data for any award that is active on March 16th and going forward
  * Document repository of award notices, contracts and official sponsor communications for awards received after March 16
  * Document repository of subcontracts issued after March 16th

What does this mean for Principal Investigators?

  * You will continue to use Rapport to submit to grants.gov
  * You will continue to have the option to use Fastlane for NSF applications
  * Your department administrative staff and OSP will continue to assist you in uploading documents
  * The system will serve as the official institutional record of proposal documents
  * You will be asked to login to the system to certify proposals eliminating all paper routing forms
  * Your Chair and others (as applicable) will review and approve your proposals on line
  * You will receive notifications of new awards and other sponsor notices and will have access to these documents in the system
  * You will have new visibility into the award setup process including award receipt, review, and assignment of account strings
  * New tracking of complex or multi-project awards that will provide more granular tracking at both the award PI level to the "project PI" level

Stay tuned for more communications including a PI Quick Guide. Please note that this cutover involves significant new functionality. The Rapport grants system will be unavailable on the weekend of March 14th and 15th. Proposals due for the March 16th NIH or other deadlines must be submitted no later than Thursday March 12th. ? In addition, please anticipate that reports previously available from Coeus may not be available in Rapport for several weeks after go-live.

If you have any questions, please email me ([log in to unmask]), Stephanie Morgan or [log in to unmask] If you would like us to visit your department or provide individualized or other training, please let us know.
