A pair of bald eagles, one adult and one immature, were seen at 10:45 a.m. on a partially iced over impoundment opposite the entrance to "Pompy Farms" on US Rt. 5 in Norwich.

A half hour later, a quartet of common goldeneye were observed on the river a few yards north of the Parsons Farm on Lyme's River Rd.
