I have downloaded Yosemite but now Mail refuses to open. 

In the good old days you could block extensions at start up and everything would work hunky dory.

There is talk of the problem on the net but during the beta period and nothing since the public release of Yosemite.

Any ideas on getting Mail to open? I have already closed my mail accounts via System Preferences.
