I compared a variety of headsets last year for my Mac lab, using DiLL. Caliphone 3066 USB – Direct USB connection. Mic is on a flexible gooseneck. On-off, mute, and volume control are built into the cable. ~$40–50 plus shipping Sanako SLH-07 Direct USB connection. NO user controls. No repositioning of the mic arm. ~$111 plus shipping. Seinnheiser PC333D G4ME – Requires USB adapter (included). Piivoting microphone arm. Volume control on the headset. Padded surfaces seemed less durable than any of the others. EXCELLENT audio recording quality. MOST expensive,: ~$180 This is what I got: Discovery by Telex DS-8V – Requires USB adapter (not included). Piivoting microphone arm. Volume control on the headset. Better audio recording quality that the Sanako and the Caliphone, not as good as the Seinnheiser, but considering the difference in price, this was my choice. ~$45 I hope this helps!
