Under mostly sunny skies with temperatures ranging from the mid-50s to mid-60s, the Mascoma Chapter hosted 13 birders led by Steering Committee Member George Clark. The morning began at Foley Park on the Norwich end of the Ledyard Bridge with the party then working its way northward with stops at Ompompanoosuc River Flats, Kendall Station Rd. and Campbell Flats. Good numbers of species were seen at all stops. Kingbirds, cedar waxwings and goldfinches were the most numerous passerines.  Mallards dominated the waterfowl counts with canada geese placing second. Wood ducks and hooded mergansers also were recorded. High water levels at "Pompy" Flats discouraged waders and shorebirds.
