Art,

I am so very excited for you!!  Finally time for you to be fully recognized for your extraordinary talents!!  I am a big fan of those lovely Midwest college towns, you will enjoy the ease of having access to the arts and activities that they all have so much of.  and, there  is generally  great support for mental health issues, never mind what I suspect is related to your research on head trauma In football players.

I wish I had been a fly on the wall when you announced your departure.  they are unaware how much you will be missed.

Please do assure me that I can come out and visit you sometime.

As for Brattleboro Retreat, it is a much more respectful position for me, but it is still work. At this point, I wish I would win the lottery. Nora (now married and finishing her pediatric residency) is thinking about children in her future and David (doing research on wind turbine and getting local accolades in Montreal for his music in Saxsyndrum) is also putting down roots in Canada.  I miss them much  more than I enjoy work at this point.

But, in the meantime, I am treated as somebody whose opinion matters at BR and that is certainly a 180 from DHMC.  I also walked away without looking back.

Back to your news --  Congratulations!!!!!  and please do keep in touch, my alternate email is above.

Deb

Hi Deb
Congrats on your promotion. I have accepted a position at U of Nebraska, Lincoln and am slated to start July 1. It is 80% research at the college and 1 day (20%) clinical at the Med Center in Omaha.  It is a 5 year deal - so I retired from Dartmouth and will fully retire in 5 more years. Am in the process of moving now.

Best of luck at Bratt. I hope it suits you better. I am very happy to be done with NHH and Hitch in general.

best

Hello Art!

I miss bumping into you around NHH and catching up on events at DHMC and in your life in general!

I just unexpectedly received a copy of the Dartmouth graduation booklet in the mail, where they listed me as a retiree, (as "professor of psychiatry.....guess they gave me a promotion).  I actually barely met criteria for being a retiree, by a couple of days. And, I am working pretty long hours at Brattleboro Retreat, a really nice work environment, but the hours are long.

I was surprised to see your name on the list of retirees as well.  I am betting that you also moved somewhere else?

I would love to hear.

You are one of my very favorite Dartmouth colleagues and I wish we had more  opportunity to cross paths,

Best wishes,

Deb
