Please join us this coming Saturday morning at Bedell Bridge State Historic Site for a visit to the former site of the Bedell Covered Bridge, lost in a September 1979 hurricane. The park offers an opportunity to see a wide variety of birds due to its interesting combination of riparian, mixed woodlands and agricultural land habitats. The walk will be led by Mascoma Chapter Chair Blake Allison.

The terrain is level, but the road is dirt and may be soggy if rain has occurred during the days preceding the hike. Bug repellant and water are recommended.

People wishing to carpool should meet at 6:30 a.m. at the "Park and Ride" lot on the VT side of the Ledyard Bridge in Norwich.

Directions:
From the south, take NH Rt. 10 north past the Haverhill Common. There will be a short downhill. The park entrance is on the left and marked by a large brown highway sign across the road. Turn onto the dirt road and follow it about 1.5 miles to a parking area near the river.

From VT, take Rt 25 east from Bradford crossing over the river into NH. After a quarter mile, turn left onto River Rd. and follow it north to its junction with NH Rt. 10 about a half mile below the Haverhill Common. Continue north another quarter mile to the park entrance.
