at Boston Lot Lake.
15 birders came out on this cool (34 degrees) clear morning.
From the parking lot we saw:
grackles
mallards
rock pigeons
and a squawking blue jay
Walking up the hill we saw/heard:
white-throated sparrows
black capped chickadees
mourning doves
ruby crowned kinglets
a hermit thrush
american goldfinches
ovenbirds
black and white warblers
Near the top:
a white breasted nuthatch
a downy woodpecker
black throated blue warblers
pine warblers
least flycatchers
At the Lake (in addition to already mentioned):
turkey vultures
yellow rumped warblers
yellow bellied sapsuckers
a northern flickers
rough winged swallows
tree swallows
an eastern phoebe
hooded mergansers
song sparrows
a single american robin
a chestnut sided warbler
black throated green warblers
On the way back down:
a broad winged hawk at the top of a snag, looking around for a mid morning snack
It had warmed up considerably by 9AM!
