Greetings all,
You may recall that last fall NH Audubon did a pilot project looking for Chimney Swift Roosts. We mostly worked in the Concord area, but a few folks found roosts elsewhere. This year I’m hoping to ramp efforts up statewide, and cover both the spring and fall migration. To that end, I intend to hold TWO training sessions sometime in mid-May, and this email is your first official heads-up. One session will be in Concord, and the second here in the Upper Valley, where we’re hoping to build toward a more in-depth swift project of some sort. I haven’t picked dates yet because a lot will depend on when the swifts really start arriving in good numbers (they’re barely in NY and CT now, with a few in Mass). I am maintaining a separate email list for people interested in the project, so if you would like to be included just let me know, and I’ll keep you in the loop. Note also that the training sessions are not *required* to help with the project, but will certainly be informative if you’re new to swift watching. Please respond to my WORK email: [log in to unmask].
So again, if interested in swift roost counts this spring, please let me know and I’ll be getting back to people in a week or so. And feel free to ask any questions you might have.
Thanks,
Pam
