A walk along Lyme's N. River Rd. produced the season's first sightings of song sparrows (4) and an eastern phoebe.
Robins continue to move through the area in large numbers. No large flocks. They typically are seen in small clusters either strung out along roadside right of ways, wherever there is exposed grass, sumac, fruit, standing water or some
combination of "all of the above," or foraging in fields where receding snow has laid bare patches of grass.
