My winter bird bath open water was at 39.5 degrees F this morning. The bird bath de-icer is Farm Innovations model B-9, 44 watts, available on-line or locally at West Lebanon Feed, approximately $22.00. Temperature was measured with a pocket-sized infrared thermometer. Michael.
