A lone female Surf Scoter was the only bird of note at Kilowatt South at
8:30 am this morning. The bird was nowhere to be seen 10 minutes later,
so I'm guessing it had moved on.

A quick stop at Ledyard at 9 am produced only 3 Mallards on the water,
but I was surprised to hear a Winter Wren in virtually full song on the
slope across the tracks from the old railroad station.
