The 8th Annual Active Learning Institute, December 12th and 13th, 2013

The Active Learning Institute (ALI) helps faculty develop and refine skills for learner-centered course design and teaching. Discussions and activities focus on theories of learning, course and syllabus design, collaborative learning, peer assessment and educational technology for active learning.  ALI faculty design this two-day workshop around the challenges identified by each year's group of participants.  Professor Chris Jernstedt (PBS) will open the institute with a presentation on how people learn and how learning changes brains.

Participants in the 2013 ALI will receive a $500 stipend for full participation in the two-day institute. Anyone holding a faculty teaching appointment at Dartmouth (Arts and Sciences, Thayer, Tuck and Geisel) at any rank is eligible to apply.
