FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

North Branford, CT, September 30, 2013 – Chester Technical Services (CTS) has been chosen as the recipient of an annual award from the Foreign Language Association of Virginia (FLAVA). The Friend of FLAVA award, presented during the group's annual conference, recognizes individuals and institutions that have made a significant contribution in building a strong foundation of support for foreign language education.

CTS is a SANS Reseller and SANS and Sony technology provider in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic U.S. As former president Norah Jones wrote in her nomination, "Patiently and collegially, Chester Technical Services has been FLAVA's partner in bringing good-quality concepts and products to the attention of annual conference attendees for many years. This partnership has always been in the spirit of support for excellence for both teachers and students, and has therefore made a powerful difference in Virginia's overall excellence in world language education."

"From everyone at SANS, we offer our congratulations to Chester Technical Services on receiving this award," said Ron Remschel, SANS president. CTS has been a loyal and trusted friend of the Foreign Language Association of Virginia over the years. FLAVA's annual conference takes place this week in Williamsburg, VA, with the theme of "Go Global." World language teachers attending will have the chance to meet colleagues, hear sessions in the target languages, expand their skills, get new ideas on using technology, experience culture, and be inspired.

"It is exciting that CTS is receiving the 2013 FLAVA Friend of FLAVA Award: my congratulations to the whole CTS team!" said current FLAVA president Dr. Kathryn Murphy-Judy, Ph.D. "As times and te(a)chnologies have changed, CTS has partnered with FLAVA to show Virginia's teachers how to provide leading-edge world language affordances for 21st century learning."

CTS president Douglas F. Rice stated, "Chester Technical Services is honored to be the recipient of the Friend of FLAVA award. We recognize that support goes beyond selling, servicing, and training of our SANS and Sony Language Lab technology. Supporting the FLAVA Association and other foreign language professional organizations in our region brings us closer to the teaching community that we serve with our technology products."
