The session will begin with a short seminar about the future of assessment. Delegates will have an opportunity to voice their requirements for testing methods and course materials. The workshop leader will then demonstrate how schools, colleges and universities can create and conduct secure online examinations, such as placement tests. He will show how testing of all four language skills can be done on online devices, such as iPad.

This is very much a 'hands-on' session in which delegates will have a good opportunity to adapt or create assessment and course materials for their language students.

Workshop Leader: Dr. Kevin Gaugler, Associate Professor of Spanish at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY

Hosted by: Jian Wu, Director of Language Lab at Southern Connecticut University
