CDH Labs Manager
Reporting to the Humanities Chief Technology Officer, the CDH Labs Manager provides management and supervision over all operations and services of the CDH computing labs, including the CDH Learning Lab at Rolfe,
RITC Lab at CDH, The Hub and Laboratory for Digital Cultural Heritage (LDCH) in the YRL Research Commons, and virtual, shared or networked lab resources and services. The Labs Manager supports the academic mission of the Humanities Division and the research
and teaching mission of the Digital Humanities across campus. In support of this mission, the Labs Manager coordinates all aspects of the CDH labs and services. Duties include: planning and leading the deployment of hardware and software in the labs, and the
deployment of virtual, shared or networked lab resources and services, organizing and managing equipment and software inventories for the labs; including shared licenses and virtual lab resources, coordinating with the CDH Network and Servers Group to ensure
the quality of Lab network operations and server maintenance and support; hiring, training, scheduling, tasking and supervising student lab consultants and other lab staff; coordinating lab reservations and gathering and reporting on labs usage; collaborating
with campus IT groups to facilitate access to and usage of laboratory resources; in collaboration with the CDH Instructional Technology Group and faculty stakeholders, forecasting and planning for future lab computing needs by surveying and meeting with faculty
and students, and analyzing Lab usage data; overseeing maintenance of the labs websites and social media platforms; developing technical documentation to support training efforts in the Labs; encouraging and training faculty, staff and students in the use
of technology to enhance instruction in the Humanities and Digital Humanities; researching and analyzing trends and advances in lab and computing technology and in learning and collaboration spaces for higher education, and recommending changes to CDH leadership;
piloting and reporting on lab computing options for possible production deployment; networking regularly with peers in computing lab management and technologies on campus and beyond, and actively participating in relevant campus technology groups and committees;
attending conferences and seminars to keep abreast of current trends in computing lab technologies and instructional/research computing spaces. Must be able to work independently and be able to prioritize work based on changing workloads and constant deadlines.
