We set off for Kendall Station Road first, with the highlight being a male and a female Gadwall. Then we went on to Campbell Flats Road. We saw 17 species, nothing out of the ordinary, but 4 phoebes chasing each other around put on a real show. We also had a good view of a kingfisher and a late tree sparrow.
Just after we pulled out of Rt. 132 and onto Rt. 5 heading north, there were 150-200 Tree Swallows landing in a tree and flying over the pond that is just beyond Kendall Station Road. We then went on to Grant Brook where the highlights were 7 Wood Ducks, a Northern Harrier, and 41 Ring-necked Ducks.
