Join us this coming Saturday for a birding outing in Wilder, VT. The event is part of the 2013 Windsor County Birding Quest series. Noted birder and Mascoma Chapter Steering Committee member George Clark will lead a 2 mile road walk over fairly level terrain in the village section of Wilder. Of particular interest will be whether any early spring migrants can be found. This will be followed by a visit to Wilder Dam to look for mergansers and eagles.

Meet at the Wilder Dam Kilowatt Park parking lot at 8:00 a.m. The walk is free and open to the public. Bring binoculars and scopes if available and dress warmly. The walk will not be held in the event of steady rain or hazardous driving conditions.

Directions: From Exit 12 off I-91 in Wilder, VT, turn east towards US Route 5. On reaching Route 5 (Hartford Avenue), turn left. Continue north to the fourth right and turn onto Depot Street. Take the next left (onto Norwich Avenue), and then an immediate right going over the new bridge to Passumpsic Avenue. There turn right toward the Wilder Dam and continue to the meeting site in the first parking lot on the right.
