from [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> Colleagues, Happy New Year to all! The deadline for proposals for IALLT 2013 is approaching, and I'm looking for 1 - 3 people interested in discussing how LRCs support independent language learners, e.g., students not currently enrolled in a course, faculty and staff trying to learn or revive a language, folks working on languages not taught on your campus. Possible issues for discussion include curating online resources for these learners, evaluating and implementing commercial software solutions, providing tutoring, helping independent learners assess their progress, conducting 'how to learn' workshops, publicizing the LRC's services, etc. If you're interested in working on this topic, please contact me ASAP so we can put together a coherent proposal. Looking forward to hearing from you, Sharon Scinicariello Director, Global Studio University of Richmond, VA ************************************************************************** LLTI is a service of IALLT, the International Association for Language Learning Technologies (http://iallt.org/), and The Consortium for Language Teaching and Learning (http://www.languageconsortium.org/).
