Friends of Lyme Library is sponsoring "Threatened Loon Population" Tuesday, April 17, 7-8 pm by Field Biologist Susie Burbidge.
 
Susie has been working  for the Loon Preservation Committee since 2009 monitoring lakes in the northern part of the Monadnock region from New London to Lyme/Dorchester. She also works as part-time throughout the year as the Outreach/Volunteer

Coordinator. 
 
She will address the challenges of protecting declining loon population. The Loon Preservation Committee was created in 1975 in response to growing concerns about the declining loon population in New Hampshire.  LPC carries out programs of monitoring, research, management

and outreach to protect loons and their habitats throughout the state.

 
Susie will talk about loons, challenges facing loons and the work that LPC is doing to protect New Hampshire's threatened loon population.


The talk will be held at the Lyme Library, located opposite the Lyme School on Rt 10.
