Aug. 4 2001 was the date a family group of Northern harriers with four immatures was observed in Windsor, VT off of Marton Road, confirmed by Julie Nicholson, late, of VINS. I remember that she was skeptical at first  toward the reported sighting, surprised when she saw the family on fence posts in the old wet meadow, and  then smiling as she filled out the data sheet. The First Harrier popped up out of the grass beside Julie as she walked down the road into the back of the Windsor Prison. August 4, 2001.  Michael.

Subject: [UVB] Harrier Windsor Marton Road

A male Northern Harrier was seen today over the fields off of Marton Road in Windsor, VT. This site was a new record breeding site for this species about ten-fifteen (?)  years ago, confirmed by Julie Nicholson of VINS. Today it was only a bachelor pad. Michael.
