This is a permanent position, effective August 1, 2012. The Lab Coordinator will assist faculty and students in several areas, related to the application of technology in language learning and teaching. Supervise daily operation of the Language Lab; the lab is open Monday - Friday, 8:00-5:00. Interview, screen, hire, train, manage, and evaluate Language Lab Assistants. Prepare and process payroll for Lab Assistants. Coordinate and maintain the operating schedule of the Language Lab. Coordinate faculty usage of the Language Lab, providing technical support and guidance as necessary. Assist instructors and students with the use of computers and Lab equipment; provide one-on-one or group instruction if needed. Maintain language textbooks, DVD's, and other material inventories. Order supplies. Coordinate with the campus technology support team. Collaborate with the department's administrative assistant to update the Language Lab website. Work directly with the Director of the Language Lab to identify needs and discern how the Lab may play a more vital role in advancing the goals of the department. The Director of the Language Lab will supervise the duties of the Language Lab Coordinator and evaluate performance in consultation with the Department Chair.
