Hi David:

I believe that this is what you want to do to get Ruby Text or Furigana into your documents. I'm using Microsoft Word 2011 so these instructions are based on that version:

1.  Go to Microsoft Office 2011 -> Additional Tools -> Microsoft Language Register -> Microsoft Language Register.App
2.  Select JAPANESE in the selection popup and click the OK button
3.  Launch Microsoft Word 2011
4.  Open a document or create a new blank document.
5.  Enter your Japanese text or highlight existing Japanese text that you want Furigana over.
6.  Go to FORMAT -> Asian Layout -> Phonetic Guide…
7.  A dialog box should appear that allows you to enter your Ruby Text, apply it to one or all instances, choose font and choose alignment. Click OK to apply the text over existing Japanese characters you highlighted

Hope this helps. Dan.
