Guys has taken on a gender free usage.
A nice guy refers to a male, as does the title of the Runyon movie, Guys and Dolls.
A mum addressing a crowd of children of both sexes will say Listen, guys.
A mom addressing a crowd of children of both sexes will say Listen up, guys.
