Check any other files you have open. Do any have the same or just similar names?
This is a little-known, long-time FMP glitch. If you have two or more similarly named files open, FMP may be sending messages to the wrong file.
Alas, moving all the files into the same folder, so they all opened and made use of the same version of the "Universal" file, did not solve the problem. But thanks for the idea.
