from Ryan Brazell <[log in to unmask]> I manage a small set of OS X multimedia workstations. Users log into the OS with their campus credentials, and are provided with a user folder that stays on the system for 30 days before being automatically deleted. We don't perform any kind of backups, as these are public workstations, but we do encourage users to back up their OWN work, and would like to make that process as easy as possible. To that end, I'm looking for software that will allow users to back up JUST their user folder, with little to no configuration or OS X knowledge necessary. Ideally, this is what would happen: 1) Users logs in, works on and saves their project. 2) User opens an application from the Dock, selects a location for their backup to be stored, and clicks OK. 3) Their user folder is automatically backed up to the location of their choosing. By default, Time Machine backs up the entire hard drive, and every user would have to go through and exclude everything except their own folder. Same for Carbon Copy Cloner, and that's tooooooo many clicks for this scenario. I can create a custom something-or-another using shell scripts, but before I do am wondering if something like this already exists? Thanks for any leads you might have!
