Hi, Max-Several weeks ago I mentioned that Joanna Whitcomb in Campus Planning and Facilities had asked about getting a student or two to participate in a focus group in connection with a Town pedestrian/biking master plan. I hadn’t heard any more from her about that until now. She is hosting a focus group lunch on Wednesday 10/26 from 12-1:30. The goal and agenda follow below. Do you and/or SA have students to suggest who might have an interest in this?
Let me know what you think. Have a SAFE weekend-
Kate
Greetings-
Please join us for lunch to brainstorm ways to improve bike and ped routes within the campus and between campus and major destinations (i.e., college housing, the Coop, DHMC). Our objective is to encourage walking and cycling and improve safety for walkers and bicyclists. Hanover has prepared a draft pedestrian and bicycle master plan that identifies important bike and pedestrian routes in town that should be improved, expanded, connected. The plan (see attachment) is broad brush at this point, identifying a network, some conceptual design options, and education and encouragement options to be implemented over time through capital improvements done by the Town, College, or in concert with private development.
