I think cscreen ( eg. $ cscreen -x 1650 -y 1050 -r 59.9) used to be available but I don't see it in 10.6*. You might find an answer here: <http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20090413120929454> I have no experience of setting screen resolution, though I'm pretty sure I used cscreen in the past to *get" the size of the display. I think you might need to be careful and there may be a good reason why Apple no longer installs cscreen. JD
