R-L fonts Hello everybody,

Some time ago I nostalgically wrote about the ease with which, in the NW Classic, you could handle diverse styles by pressing a single key or a combination of keys. I was then referred by some of you guys to “Styles” under NW Pro. I would like to report that recently I have discovered a partial solution to the problem for people like me who need to switch constantly between English/Latin fonts and others such as Greek, and notably R-L fonts such as Hebrew and Arabic. My solution is to choose Menu Keys under NWPro Preferences, and pick up a combination of keys. For instance, [Option+Shift+G] for for choosing a Greek font. This is less tiresome than moving the cursor to Tooldrawer and select the font desired. This method can be exploited for other tasks. Changing colours, for instance, which is rather tedious when you have to go to Tooldrawer.

I would like to take this opportunity of raising a couple of new questions.

1) In the NW Classic you could change font sizes by pressing simultaneously both Command Key and either [ or ] key. Is there such an easy method instead of going to the Tooldrawer?

2) Among the langauges listed for “Input menu” under OSX “International” I miss a particular language, Syriac. Because of this (?) I cannot type Syriac from right to left, as I can do with Hebrew. Under OSX + NWP there is no “reverse” mode possible. So I’m stuck, as far as Syriac is concerned. Is it possible to add yourself a language for Input Menu? There is no unicode Syriac font around yet, as far as I know. Not an Open Type font, anyway.

Cheers,
