you already made my day, Doug. now… if you also have an idea on how to unchek the default "Reopen windows when logging back in" that shows in "Restart…" dialog… ;-)

By the way, I visited the local Apple Store today and was told that because several million Mac users were trying to download Lion, their servers either were very slow or could not cope at all!

tried to open App Store and check for updates, this morning, but it was painfully slow :-/

I am now on Lion!

The update was difficult as I could not find a key marked 'Download'. Software Update did not show it, and the Apple website apologised for not showing it. I went round and round in the App Store before I eventually discovered the download button and yes, I have used this several times before.
The download took almost an hour with a fast cable broadband. I assume everyone was doing it.
Once downloaded, the installation took 45 minutes.

Now it is running, my first annoyance is that my name appears at the top and I have not yet found how to remove it or change it.
Next is that the scrolling works upside down. This can be fixed in System Preferences.
I am sure there must be many good things, but so far I have not found anything I am delighted with.
Snow Leopard was OK for me, so what can I say except 'If it aint broke, don't fix it'!

I am sure it will grow on me, but in the meantime my apologies for sounding like Geoff!
