Good afternoon! Thank you all for your participation in this spring's Vertical Challenge! Attached is the points plot. It was a fantastic spring for Ledyard. With a good snowpack, plentiful rain, and some unseasonably warm days, there was plenty of water to play with. The DMC still fought through and found some dry (or mostly dry) climbs. Things were a bit soggy for the mountain bikers, but they took advantage of those few sunny days by sending out an armada of bikers and pedaling until the sun went down. Although based on the plot it may appear that CnT's performance has been lackluster, I'm sure their adventurous spirits have lured them out into the woods. Perhaps if we included diners... Individual awards go out to: Nick Gottlieb, for not being a student. And also for getting the most points for both Ledyard and CnT. Nick was also the only participant to complete a triple day. On top of this, Nick scored more points by himself than the DMC, CnT, or the MBC. Diana Wendt and Zeb Engberg, for climbing, and climbing, and climbing. 144 people*trips were blitzed in. The highest scoring individual trip goes to Nick Gottlieb, Chelsea Liddell, Greg Sokol, and Chris Zentner for their adventure to the North Fork of the East Branch of the Pemigewasset River. The most unique trip goes to Ben Hughey for the pole climbing event. In celebration of the end of this event come to Ledyard at 8 tonight for the: HORIZONTAL CHALLENGE Also known as the SAY GOOD LUCK TO YOUR FRIENDS WHO ARE COMING ON TRIP (IN)TO THE SEA...challenge LEDYARD - 8 PM Thanks again!
