Hello,
Just in case this might be of interest, I have placed back online a rather
old introduction (with video demos) to a two part audio-video recording
project (using Flash Communication server) called “WebSpeak” with which I
was involved a number of years ago. It included an audio-video Recorder
component as well as an asynchronous voice and video-based threaded
discussion forum. I used the latter, “WebSpeak Discussion” (WSD), for a few
years and it worked well, but I then changed universities and no longer had
access to a Flash Communication server or the necessary tech support.

It is all open source and if anyone is interested (and able!) to “revive”
the project, please feel free to contact me. Below are the tech requirements
for WSD. (If I recall correctly, the Recorder component had similar
requirements, but used ASP instead of PHP.)

Best,
