Our Dean of International Education has asked if I know anything about the Nyrius Global Talking Translator. I've looked at the website and the Amazon reviews, and it seems this works pretty well as a talking phrase-book, but 'talking translator' promises more than it delivers. Does anyone have any experience with this product or comparable products? (This Dean is a supporter of language learning and would never consider this as a substitute for multilingualism, but she and her staff often travel places whose languages they haven't learned.) Thanks, Sharon Sharon Scinicariello, Ph.D. Director, Global Studio Modern Literatures and Cultures University of Richmond, VA 23173 *********************************************** LLTI is a service of IALLT, the International Association for Language Learning Technology (http://iallt.org/), and The Consortium for Language Teaching and Learning (http://www.languageconsortium.org/).
