MWALLT is seeking proposals for it's upcoming conference to be hosted by the CLA Language Center at the University of Minnesota on October 8 - 9, 2010. The conference theme is "Engaging Students for Advanced Proficiency." Instructors and graduate students interested in the use of technology in second-language learning and teaching are encouraged to submit proposals, especially those relating to this theme and the following topics: * Social Networking * Increasing student production * Providing feedback * Use of mobile devices * Video in second-language learning * Developing digital literacy * Delivering curriculum online * Developing professional community / Personal Learning Networks * Technology approaches to Languages Across the Curriculum The conference will include 3 different *presentation formats*: * 45 minute lecture/demonstrations. * 45 minute computer-lab workshops. * New this year, MWALLT will host an hour-long 20 x 20 session. This session is modeled after Pecha Kucha <http://www.pecha-kucha.org/> or Ignite <http://ignite.oreilly.com/> events in which individual presenters give 6 minute 40 second presentations that consist of 20 images/slides, each lasting 20 seconds. The *deadline for proposal submissions* is Wednesday, September 14, 2010. Authors of submitted proposals will be notified of their acceptance by mid-September.
