Hi Darren, Manual of Leaf Architecture is an excellent resource: http://www.cornellpress.cornell.edu/cup_detail.taf?ti_id=5362 Beyond this, and perhaps the book that Chris Liu suggested, it's a matter of working within a particular flora and getting to know the taxonomic groups initially through more traditional identification - primarily using reproductive parts. The Smithsonian's cleared leaf collections are very useful for comparative purposes. Best, Bonnie Dr. Bonnie Jacobs Roy M.
