The first mentioned organizational names were typically Javanese, and I assume that the personal name too, particularly when augmented to _Sumardi_, is Javanese. However, the name appears all over the Archipelago, also in Malaysia (particularly in Sarawak). I haven't found _mardi_ in either New or Old Javanese dictionaries. Could it be cognate with _Mardiyah_ that is apparently of Arabic origin? Thanks beforehand for any help.
