You can record the questions and then insert beeps and silences. Then open the recording in Audacity and click Record to start a second track. At the end, you can keep both tracks or keep only the students' answers, whichever you prefer. It's free and pretty reliable. I'd say we have less than a 1% failure rate (where Audacity crashes and the recording gets lost and the student has to redo it). ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Laura Atkinson Instructional Technology Lab Specialist Center for Instructional Technology Duke University [log in to unmask] ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* -----Original Message----- From: Language Learning and Technology International Information Forum [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of LLTI-Editor Sent: Thursday, February 25, 2010 4:22 PM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: #9358 looking for alternatives to ETS Speak Test --- Forwarded Message from "Tracy Dingess" <[log in to unmask]> --- >Date: Wed, 24 Feb 2010 12:35:50 -0500 >From: "Tracy Dingess" <[log in to unmask]> >To: <[log in to unmask]> >Subject: looking for alternatives to ETS Speak Test Hello List members, I am looking for alternatives to the old ETS SPEAK Test on audio cassette.
