With all the observations of C. Nighthawks being reported, I have 
been keeping an eye on the sky around dusk. On the drive home from 
Bradley Thursday around 7 PM, I glanced up into the sky just north of 
Rt. 2 in Massachusetts and there was a nighthawk flycatching above 
the road.  It was the first time I have seen one while driving along 
the highway.  There seems to be either a lot more nighthawks around 
or their migration route has shifted.  I haven't seen so many since 
Dartmouth turned the lights off of Baker Library in 1974 during the 
first energy crisis.
